About Digital Transactions Management

The Digital Transactions Department is responsible for developing and managing application systems at the university to automate digital transformation processes, as it focuses on managing, developing and operating these systems, and managing, designing and analyzing systems and Commercial-Off-The-Data bases at the university. It is also responsible for managing and supporting operational applications and internal developed application systems. As well as providing designs, and improving the beneficiary's experience with the Shelf for all digital products of the university. The operations of managing digital transactions are carried out through the Software Development Unit, Application Administration Unit, Content Administration Unit, and Database Administration Unit.

 

Software Development Unit

The Software Development Unit produces and develops digital products and services in accordance with recognized standards, and its tasks are as follows:

  • Studying and analyzing the expectations and requirements of the beneficiaries technically
  • Prepare cost and time estimates for tasks related to development and design processes
  • Design, develop and make the necessary improvements to the university's external portal and applications related to information technology or information systems in accordance with the university's software development policy
  • Writing and drafting technical specifications for technical solutions related to software
  • Receiving, reviewing and running source code and ensuring its development in external software projects
  • Implement regulatory coding standards including source control, code tools, documentation, and writing technical documentation associated with digital services
  • Cooperating with relevant departments to effectively implement integration processes between digital systems and services
  • Test and modify applications for infrastructure updates
  • Review and test changes, interfaces, applications, data, and improvements, and ensure the integrity of any new release
  • Participate in disaster recovery initiatives, and apply their requirements in software and applications that fall under the initiative
  • Supporting internal work teams, training technical support staff by keeping them informed of new jobs and system changes, and raising their awareness of mechanisms for solving digital services problems

 

Application Administration Unit

The Applications Administration Unit is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the university's application systems. It includes planning and managing the operations and activities related to operating the Applications by maintaining the academic data of faculty, staff, and students, financial data and other relevant information. The tasks of this unit are as follows:

  • Providing technical assistance, user support and training for the effective use of the systems
  • Maintaining existing applications at the university with a focus on administrative functions and processes
  • Providing support for many applications, such as the internal ERP system developed for the university community.

 

Content Administration Unit

Content Administration Unit is the process of organizing and standardizing different types of content such as text, graphics, media clips, etc. in the most efficient way, storing them only once in multiple XML, and using classification languages ​​such as a software repository, known as the core of a content management system, so that the organized content can then be used over and over For many different publications, and reconfigure it for publication across multiple channels. Content Administration Unit functionality can include everything related to managing digital assets for a particular website and storing documents. The tasks of this unit are as follows:

  • Managing the digital content of the main portal of the university
  • Managing social media accounts associated with the Deanship
  • Improving the beneficiary’s experience experience by developing designs in line with the university’s identity
  • Providing and developing multimedia for publication on the various channels of the university
  • Translation of the news content of the main portal of the university

 

Database Administration Unit

The Database Administration Unit is responsible for maintaining and running the database(s) smoothly 24/7. The goal is to provide a smooth flow of information in all applications and associated systems, taking into account both the back-end data structure and front-end accessibility for end users. Responsibilities extend to data integration and ensuring appropriate response to infrastructure alerts This unit interacts with analysts, developers and overall technology leadership of the university. The primary responsibilities are as follows:

  • Read, analyze and interpret government regulations and legislation and apply them technically
  • Providing maintenance of all databases with their different engines
  • Testing new versions of databases, studying the possibility of upgrading with the upgrade procedure, and assessing risks
  • Conducting analysis and designing modifications to the university's databases to ensure high performance and in a manner that does not conflict with the regulations associated with those rules
  • Daily technical management of all databases
  • Ensuring database backups and periodic checking of the integrity of those copies in accordance with the backup policies
  • Diagnose, analyze, troubleshoot, and repair technical problems
  • Ensure that modern management tools are available to monitor database performance
  • Primary contact for issues related to database applications
  • Writing reports and procedure manuals, presenting information effectively, and answering questions related to databases
